Anthony, Kudwa, Renneisen, Scherr added to Wrestling Hall of Fame Board of GovernorsWrestling Hall of Fame STILLWATER, Okla. – The National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum will welcome four new members to its Board of Governors at its semi-annual board meeting on June 5. Joining the Board are new members Calvin Anthony, Robert Kudwa, Wayne Renneisen and Bill Scherr. “These four individuals bring an enormous amount of experience and enthusiasm for the sport of wrestling to our board at the Hall of Fame” said Jim Keen, Chairman of the Board of Governors. “We are fortunate to have outstanding individuals with such strong business credentials to help us advance our mission at the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum as they each begin to serve six-year terms.” Anthony, a resident of Stillwater, attended Oklahoma State University on a baseball scholarship from 1963-65 and graduated from the University of Oklahoma Pharmacy School in 1968. He owns two pharmacies and is currently serving as president of the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce. He recently retired as chief executive officer for the National Community Pharmacists Association in Washington, D.C., and has been honored by the American Pharmacists Association with its Hubert Humphrey Legislative Award, given to the most politically accomplished United States pharmacist. A former mayor of Stillwater, Anthony was elected to the state legislature in 1991, serving as Assistant Majority Floor Leader. He is active with the Stillwater Medical Center Foundation Board, the Stillwater United Way Board and is president-elect of the Oklahoma State University Alumni Association. Anthony was involved with the original fundraising campaign to build the Hall of Fame and previously served as a member of the Board of Governors. He and his wife Linda have been married for 34 years and they have three grown children, Rebecca, Luke and Andrew. Kudwa, from Colorado Springs, Colo., is a 33-year veteran pilot and serves as an aviation specialist for the consulting firm Kudwa and Associates, LLC. Kudwa spent 30 years flying fighter jets for the United States Marine Corps, retiring in 1998 as a colonel in the reserves. He also piloted American Airlines jets, rising to Chief Pilot at American’s second largest pilot base in Chicago in 1995. He left Chicago to manage flight training and standards at American’s Flight Academy in Fort Worth and served as Vice President, Flight and Director of Operations from 1999 until his retirement in 2003. A successful high school and college wrestler, Kudwa graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1970 and earned a Masters of Science in Aerospace Safety and Systems Management from the University of Southern California. He is active with the Marine Corps Scholarship Association and Habitat for Humanity. He and his wife Nancy have two daughters, Amy and Kelly. Renneisen, of Bala Cynwyd, Pa., graduated from Williams College in 1956 and attended law school at the University of Pennsylvania. After three years serving as a JAG officer for the U.S. Army, he began practicing law in Philadelphia. For approximately 20 years, he was the managing owner of the law firm of Harvey, Pennington in Philadelphia and specialized in civil litigation. In 2004, he was selected to the initial group of Pennsylvania “Super” Lawyers. Renneisen, a longtime wrestling fan, is a Lifetime Governor Associate for the Hall of Fame. He and his wife Kay have two grown sons, Gordon and John, who both are also lawyers. Scherr, from Glenview, Ill., is a Distinguished Member of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and of the South Dakota Sports Hall of Fame. A 1985 World Champion and a six-time national freestyle champion, he won a bronze medal in the 1988 Olympic Games. He was an NCAA champion in 1984 and was a three-time All-American for the University of Nebraska where he earned his bachelors degree. He earned his masters of business administration from Indiana University. He currently serves as a vice president of Goldman Sachs and Co. Scherr is married to the former Teresa Davis and they have four children, Alexandra, Ariel, Austin and William. This is his second stint as an active member of the Board of Governors. The four newcomers will replace outgoing members Dave Martin, Dr. Sean Kelly. and Nancy Schultz who become Governor Associates. The semi-annual Board of Governors meeting is held in conjunction with the 29th Annual Honors Weekend.
