Five Olympic Developmental Camps for young women set for 2006-07 year

USA Wrestling has planned five Olympic Developmental Camps for talented young women wrestlers during the 2006-07 season.

“The purpose of the camps are to bring the USA’s top young athletes up to speed with the techniques that the national staff feels are important to their future success in the sport on the national and international levels,” said Vlad “Izzy” Izboinikov, USA Wrestling’s National Women’s Developmental Coach.

These camps will be available to age-group female wrestlers who have achieved “funded access,” based upon performance in major women’s wrestling competitions. Among the events where funded access can be earned are the ASICS Junior Nationals, the Body Bar FILA Cadet Nationals, the Body Bar FILA Junior Nationals and the USGWA High School Nationals.

There are five camps available, and the National Coaching staff for women’s wrestling is encouraging qualified athletes to attend all five of them, or at least a number of the camps.

There is a system of costs for the camp that is tiered in order to encourage athletes to participate in a number of the camps. In order to receive the discount price, an athlete must sign up for multiple camps at one time.

The pricing is structured as follows:
1 camp - $110.00
2 camps - $160.00
3 camps - $210.00
4 camps - $250.00
5 camps - $275.00
Finalists from the Junior Nationals, FILA Cadet Nationals and FILA Junior Nationals can attend at half price.

There is limited space at each camp, and it is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be no price break for athletes who sign up after the deadline.
