Henry Cejudo named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for Feb. 26-March 3

do Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for Feb. 26-March 3.

Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level. The announcement will be made each week on Wednesday.

Cejudo delivered a strong performance to capture the Pan American Championships gold medal on March 2 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.

Cejudo, a 2007 World Team member, pinned 2007 World bronze medalist Andy Moreno of Cuba to win the freestyle title at 55 kg/121 lbs. Cejudo qualified the U.S. for the Olympic Games at 55 kilos with his performance over the weekend.

Cejudo, 21, won his third straight title at the Pan American Championships. The 2006 Junior World silver medalist now takes aim at making his first U.S. Olympic Team.
