UNI's Moza Fay named Western Wrestling Conference Wrestler of the WeekWestern Wrestling Conference

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - University of Northern Iowa sophomore Moza Fay has been named the Western Wrestling Conference Wrestler of the Week as announced by league officials.
Fay (Anamosa, Iowa) notched a third-place finish at the 2006 Midlands Wrestling Championships after entering the tournament as the No. 7 seed in the 157-pound weight class.
Fay scored a 9-2 win over Eric Howe (Purdue) in the first round. Fay notched a 13-7 victory over Jason Brew (Olivet) in the second round. Fay tallied a 12-6 victory over No. 2-seeded Brandon Becker (Indiana) in the quarterfinals. Fay then lost his only match of the tournament to No. 3-seeded Michael Poeta (Illinois), 8-3. Fay bounced back to take third place with a pair of consolation wins over No. 8-seeded Brian Cobb (Road Runner Wrestling Club) via fall at 4:38 and then a 9-5 win over No. 4-seeded Andrew Flannagan (Harvard).
